SOKS Joins the Virginia Soccer Alliance
The Virginia Soccer Alliance is proud to announce new member club Scottsville Organization for Kids’ Soccer (SOKS). SOKS offers recreational soccer programming for youth players in the Scottsville area. Fall 2024 programs are accepting registrations now with programs planned for players age 4 though 16.
SOKS has provided soccer programming for over two decades in the Scottsville area. The club is committed to providing all interested youth players the opportunity to participate and enjoy the game of soccer. Recreational programs seek to teach good sportsmanship, respect for one another, the joy of being a part of a team, and a chance to develop skills within the sport of soccer. All members are asked to participate positively and be supportive of others within the programs.
“We are excited to Join the Virginia Soccer Alliance this fall. The time has come to ensure our organization continues on in the future and more importantly the youth of Scottsville have a local option to play soccer. We have been blessed through the years to have so many great volunteers, that have put in countless hours for our organization. It is our hope that by joining the Alliance there will be an element of professional support that can continue this service in our community for many years to come.” said SOKS Board President Nancy Schlichting.
The Virginia Soccer Alliance was formed in 2021 and seeks to unite the efforts of youth soccer clubs in the western region of Virginia. The Alliance provides an economy of resources and ideas from which it’s member clubs may draw in order to serve their communities effectively. Players who are a part of the alliance of clubs have the opportunity to not only compete and learn locally for their unique community, but have access to national and regional platforms that are often unattainable for communities of smaller size.
